2021 NBA Playoffs Will be Upon us Soon

The 2021 NBA Playoffs will be like no other. The Brooklyn Nets’ super team should be healthy.

The two Los Angeles teams have the talent to try and go all the way. Giannis Antetokounmpo has the best supporting cast of his career. The teams at the top are ready to go and have waited a long time for this.

The play-in format is new this time around. Instead of the top eight teams automatically qualifying for the postseason, the new system calls for 10 teams getting the chance after the conclusion of the regular season.

There will be a different swag to the playoffs, with a possible 10th-place team qualifying for the playoffs. With things in the East being as they are, it’s great. Russell Westbrook’s Wizards or the newly interesting Raptors have both been great of late.

Can the Lakers Repeat?

The chances of the Los Angeles Lakers winning the NBA Finals in 2021 are not so likely. They have Anthony Davis back, and LeBron James should follow suit within the next few weeks. They added Andre Drummond, too.

But there are a number of holes on this roster, and it is not quite as solid as the group that defeated the Miami Heat in the bubble. They will wind up missing Danny Green and Rajon Rondo.

The thing is, though, the last nine times that James has made the playoffs, his team has gone to the Finals. You have to go back to before he left Cleveland the first time to find a year where he was healthy and not playing in the last round of the postseason.

That type of stretch is legendary, though this time, it will be no cakewalk. Denver, the Clippers, Utah and Phoenix will have something to say.

The Suns could pose a serious threat with their long perimeter defenders and dynamic backcourt. Chris Paul and Devin Booker together are very tough to stop and as lethal as it gets.

Is Brooklyn Deep Enough to Run It?

The Nets lost LaMarcus Aldridge to early retirement last week. James Harden has been hurt for several weeks. Every time Kevin Durant finds a rhythm, he winds up out of the lineup for one reason or another.

Given the fact that two of the team’s three stars can’t stay healthy, it could be very hard for Brooklyn to be able to win it all.

Philadelphia and Milwaukee are the obvious candidates for top teams to knock them out in the playoffs. But the Heat, should they continue to win and hold on, are another interesting club.

They have a number of savvy veteran players around Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo and are still making roster tweaks even now.

And the New York Knicks have won nine in a row and would love nothing more than a shot at the so-called alpha team in the East.

Great Days are Ahead

The postseason is going to be off the hook this year. Every series in the 2021 NBA playoffs will be exciting.

The play-in will have two champions and two early exits. And those that advance will have a different kind of positive momentum heading into the first round.

This year will be lit. It will be must-watch every night. Anything can happen. Greatness occurs nightly in this league.
